Tarun is an electromagnetic engineer for Remcom. Born and raised in Saudi Arabia, Tarun comes from a family of electrical engineers (his father, uncle, sister, and cousin). He now travels around the world providing technical support for Remcom’s electromagnetic simulation software.

>> My name is Tyrone Chabla [Assumed Spelling]. My mom would say Tyrone Chabla, that's with an accent. I am an electrical mechanical engineer. I work for a company called Remcon, and it was started by a Penn State Professor back in 1994. He is a premiere name in this theory called finite difference time domain. And we write software using that electromagnetic computational method to do analysis on radiation. So let's say you have a phone, and there are several antennas in it, like the GPS, Wi-Fi antenna, the main 4G antenna or the 3G antenna, electrical engineers design these antennas and simulate this. So the phone performs as if it's in real life, and you see the radiation that takes place and affects the brain and the cells and the heating and the absorption rates and all that. So I do, at the base level I do technical support for the software, it's called XFdtd. So we sell the software and I provide anywhere from starting the software up, up to setting up a project in the software, and I help customers get up and running to using it in their daily work, but I do applications, as well, I help set-up different sorts of examples for the software. I do a lot of technical visits for customers, travel all over the country. I'm actually going to my first international trip within the next two weeks to a big client in China, then off to Korea, then Japan. And so making visits to these places to speak with engineers and how their workflow is and the processes they have.
