Welcome to The Career and Leadership Skills Academy!
This professional development opportunity was created through a collaboration between Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania Career Center and The Pennsylvania Bankers Association. We are excited to continue working with Commonwealth University, Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), and Kutztown University for the 2026 academy.
This program consists of a 9-week, live online series of professional and leadership development sessions for your interns. Topics include emotional intelligence, personal branding, networking, and inclusion and belonging in the workplace.
Completion of this program leads to a collaborative noncredit certificate. The program includes 15 hours of synchronous online instruction and a mentorship opportunity.
Cohort 1: June 4, 2026 – July 30, 2026 | 9 AM – 10:30 AM
Cohort 2: June 4, 2026 – July 30, 2026 | 11 AM – 12:30 PM
Cohort 3: June 4, 2026 – July 30, 2026 | 1 PM – 3:30 PM

Learners will be able to…
- Learners will obtain and gain insight on critical career and professional development foundational skills including DEI, interpersonal skills, communication, leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence.
- Learners will develop an inclusive leadership style and approach that fits their personal abilities and workplace context.
- Learners will understand a Banking leader’s role in equity and inclusion and sustainable business practices.
