Position Summary
The Boater Education and Pump-Out Program is a supportive effort of HRSD and the Wildlife & Sport Fish Restoration Grant Program – administered by the Virginia Department of Health, and the Cities of Hampton, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach. Under broad guidance, the Boater Pump-Out Intern is responsible for providing community education, performing holding-tank pump outs at local marinas and residences, and conducting other office and field support activities. Summer Season operates Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. This position is a seasonal internship with a mandatory orientation the Thursday and Friday before Memorial Day.
